Fertility Awareness - Introduction

Apply the Symptothermal Method!

Would you like to learn a wonderful self-awareness-based method of cycle tracking? Then this course is for you.

The symptothermal method enables us to identify fertility and the four cycle phases, predict the start date of our menstruation, and receive a monthly update on our current health. When applied correctly, this method provides a non-hormonal contraception option as safe as the contraceptive pill.'

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

This course is for individuals of all ages and genders with a menstrual cycle, who have already completed the Menstrual Awareness Introduction Course or who already possess basic knowledge of their own hormones and cyclical nature. Partners are welcome to join! The course will be in English, and an intermediate level of English is required. Danish, German, Portuguese, and Spanish can be used as support languages.

CONTENT

  • What is the symptothermal method and how does it work?
  • How to start using the symptothermal method.
  • What is cervical mucus, and what role does it play in fertility?
  • What is basal temperature, and how does it help us identify different cycle phases?
  • What does menstruation tell us about hormonal balance and health?
  • Note: This is an introductory course and does not include individual or comprehensive coaching on identifying specific fertility patterns or applying the symptothermal method safely for contraception.
  • The course content is based on the research of the NFP Working Group and their handbook Natural & Safe: The Handbook for Family Planning with Sensiplan.

APPROACH

  • A blend of educational content, mindfulness training, and actionable inspiration.
  • A space of appreciation, trust, and confidentiality to grow together in feminine strength.

Inka Fischer Leoncio

I’m a cultural and social anthropologist, as well as a pedagogue. I’m trained in the Symptothermal Method by NFP Sensiplan and completed the Cycle Power course at Red School.

Since my early studies, social hierarchies, diversity, equity, and inclusion have been topics of interest to me. I am absolutely curious about understanding human beings and dedicated to raising awareness and fostering consciousness in society. As a coach in intercultural competencies, conflict management, and hormonal cycle awareness, I support individuals in establishing authentic and empathetic connections with themselves and others.

My Motivation

Through my own journey of cycle awareness, I have discovered how little most people know about the cyclical nature of female hormones and body. At the same time, I was impressed by how empowering, liberating, and self-loving the effects of cycle awareness can be for those who embrace it. I’m one such example.
Having had an extremely enriching experience myself, I’m eager to inspire others to start their process of understanding and feeling the connection between their hormonal cycle, lifestyle, and well-being.

Cycle awareness is a process that comes from within, but it can be nurtured or hindered by social and structural environments. For this reason, I also addresses non-menstruating people, partners, (educational) institutions, and companies. By fostering a deeper understanding and empathy for the cyclical nature of menstruators, we can achieve enhanced well-being, more harmonious and authentic social relationships, purposeful productivity, and greater inclusivity.
