Fertility Awareness - Introduction

Apply the Symptothermal Method!

Would you like to learn more about human fertility and how to apply a wonderful self-awareness-based method of cycle tracking? Then this course is for you!

Fertility awareness focuses on the physical aspects of cycle awareness. The Symptothermal Method enables us to identify the fertile window and the four cycle phases. It helps predict the start of menstruation and provides a monthly update on our current hormonal health. When applied correctly, this method offers a non-hormonal contraception option that is as safe as the contraceptive pill. Applying the Symptothermal Method usually brings an extremely precious side effect: a more compassionate connection with the female body and its cyclical nature – from both the menstruator’s and the partner’s perspective.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

This course is for individuals of all ages and genders with a menstrual cycle. Partners are welcome to join!!! The course will be conducted in English. Danish, German, Portuguese, and Spanish can be used as support languages.

CONTENT

  • What happens during a healthy fertility cycle, and what is couple fertility?
  • What are cervical mucus and the cervix, and what roles do they play in fertility?
  • What is basal body temperature, and how does it help us identify different cycle phases?
  • How can we observe, document, and interpret our cyclical body signs for fertility awareness?
  • The course content is based on the research of the NFP Working Group and their handbook Natural & Safe: The Handbook for Family Planning with Sensiplan.

APPROACH

  • The coaching blends educational content, mindfulness training, and actionable inspiration.
  • The course provides a safe space – built on trust and confidentiality – to understand and appreciate the female hormonal cycle.

NOTE!

This is an introductory course. To identify individual fertility patterns and apply the Symptothermal Method safely for contraception, more time for cycle observation and deeper method training would be necessary.

Please bring any cycle documentation you have so far.

I look forward to warmly welcoming you!

Inka Fischer Leoncio

I’m a cultural and social anthropologist, as well as a pedagogue. I’m trained in the Symptothermal Method by NFP Sensiplan and completed the Cycle Power course at Red School.

Since my early studies, social hierarchies, diversity, equity, and inclusion have been topics of interest to me. I am absolutely curious about understanding human beings and dedicated to raising awareness and fostering consciousness in society. As a coach in intercultural competencies, conflict management, and hormonal cycle awareness, I support individuals in establishing authentic and empathetic connections with themselves and others.

My Motivation

Through my own journey of cycle awareness, I have discovered how little most people know about the cyclical nature of female hormones and body. At the same time, I was impressed by how empowering, liberating, and self-loving the effects of cycle awareness can be for those who embrace it. I’m one such example.
Having had an extremely enriching experience myself, I’m eager to inspire others to start their process of understanding and feeling the connection between their hormonal cycle, lifestyle, and well-being.

Cycle awareness is a process that comes from within, but it can be nurtured or hindered by social and structural environments. For this reason, I also addresses non-menstruating people, partners, (educational) institutions, and companies. By fostering a deeper understanding and empathy for the cyclical nature of menstruators, we can achieve enhanced well-being, more harmonious and authentic social relationships, purposeful productivity, and greater inclusivity.
