Oil Painting - advanced

An oil painting is more than a picture; it’s a journey through colors, textures, and layers, inviting the viewer to see the world with fresh eyes.

If you’ve been working with oil paint for a while and want to take your skills to the next level, this class is for you. We will focus on helping you achieve results, develop your own personal painting style, and explore styles that inspire and interest you.

Through this course, you will deepen your knowledge and understanding of constructing objects and forms with color and learn how the surroundings influence what you see.

As a participant in this course, you will work on:

  • representing textures of objects
  • tackling challenging color composition including complicated and detailed objects
  • managing multiple light sources
  • setting accurate perspectives

Requirements for the Course

Oil Painting for advanced is for those who have prior experience with oil painting and want to refine their skills. The course is not suitable for beginners. If you're a beginner, you can explore our beginner’s course in oil painting here.

I am teaching arts at FOF Aarhus.

During my higher education, I am trained in teaching arts, and I am an artist too. My specialization is in oil painting and portrait (you can visit my website here).

I have experience in teaching students in different age groups and different levels of proficiency of their art skills, from beginners to people who have chosen art as their professional path in life.

In my art courses I teach realistic painting, including human anatomy in portrait, as well as expressionism.
