Oil painting - beginners/intermediate

Explore the timeless and versatile art form!

This course is for you who have never tried oil painting before or those who have little experience with that media.

Focus of the class is teaching you how to create realistically looking paintings. You will be gaining knowledge and skills that you can apply to any painting afterwards. You will learn how to achieve realism in shapes and colors. This way your paintings will look three-dimensional and real.

We start with a drawing lesson to get an idea of everyone’s level. After that we start with the first painting to get used to the material. We will paint a still life arrangement. After being trained in the basics, we pick a topic of your choice. We will create multiple artworks throughout the course.

As a participant in this course, you will learn how to use:

• Light and shadow
• Halftone
• Perspective
• Cold and warm contrast
• Color harmony
• Color perspective
• Other materials needed for the process

We will paint realism, so we can study how light influences color in the real environment that is surrounding us, what underlying tones stay behind the colors we see with the naked eye and how to achieve them.

Requirements for the Course

Oil painting - beginners/intermediate is intended for beginners - those who have little or no experience with oil paints, and intermediate - those who have some experience with oil paints but need more knowledge to feel comfortable using them.

Practical Information

The course is conducted in English. It's an great opportunity for you to enhance your language skills while delving into the world of oil painting.

If there is any model hired throughout the course, the participants pay for the model.
