The Classics of French Cuisine

Discover the timeless elegance of French cuisine, where each dish tells a story of tradition and passion.

The goal of this course is to provide you with the opportunity to explore French cuisine and recreate its delights at home, perfect for impressing your guests. In each class, you will discover either a typical starter and main course, or a main course and dessert, which can often be pastry in France.

At the beginning of each class, the instructor will explain which region each dish is a specialty of and, if applicable, share some interesting or fun facts. Afterwards you will move on to the cooking, where the instructor will supervise and answer questions. Finally, we’ll all enjoy tasting the delicious food together.

As a participant in this course, you will:

  • go home after each class with new recipes and cooking techniques.
  • learn the French culture around food for example how and when they like to eat.
  • discover a ton of other factors about the French food culture and the French way of appreciating and sharing food.

Requirements for the Course

The Classics of French Cuisine welcomes beginners and intermediates. Our purpose is not to create French gastronomic food, but to introduce you to typical dishes from several regions of France. For many of the dishes, the techniques are quite simple, and what sets these dishes apart is the use of special ingredients. Some of the desserts and pastries might be a bit tricky to make, but don’t worry. With guidance of the instructor, who will share some insider tips and tricks, everyone will be able to succeed.
